Police Investigate Handbag Hustlers

LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA) -  Prince George's County Police are asking the public's help in identifying suspects wanted in a series of purse snatchings at gas stations, including one that took place July 25.

Officers responded to the 5300 block of Sheriff Rd. for a call of a theft from a car. The victim had finished pumping gas and was getting into her car when the suspects pulled up next to her in a black Mercedes SUV.

The passenger from the Mercedes got out of the car, reached into the victim's car from the passenger side and took her purse before getting back into the Mercedes. The two suspects drove away in the Mercedes.

Drivers are reminded to never leave valuables in plain sight.
