FT. WASHINGTON,  Md. (WUSA) -  Firefighters were called to the scene of a garage fire at the Henson Creek Golf Course at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, according to a Prince George's Fire Department spokesman.

The garage, a large structure designed to store golf carts, is still on fire. A giant plume of black smoke rising from it can be seen for miles, says the spokesman.

The golf course is in the 1600 block of Tucker Road and is operated by the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission.

County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor is at the scene, where firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
