WASHINGTON (WUSA)- The Washington Humane Society (WHS) has named its new mobile adoption center Adopt Force One.
WHS took a poll on Facebook to see what the public would like the center to be named.
WHS finds the name to be "incredibly fun and fitting for DC's animals."
The vehicle transports DC animals around the metropolitan area to help them find homes. this fall.
Sixteen animals have already found their homes directly from the mobile adoption center, WHS says.
Adopt Force One will be part of an "Elect to Adopt DC-All Pawlitics is Local" campaign to encourage more local WHS adoptions, WHS says.
Adopt Force One will make its debut August 25 at the Washington Redskins' first pre-season home game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The vehicle will be in the parking lot for "tail-gating" at every home game this season, WHS says.
Adopt Force One will offer visitors periodic adoption discounts and other promotional opportunties throughout the summer and fall.
The public can view a schedule at www.washhumane.org to find out about Adopt Force One events.
Follow the vehicle on Facebook and Twitter, using the hash tag #AdoptForceOne.
