WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into the 2009 and 2010 Ram pickup.
The agency has received complaints from about a dozen owners who say they rear wheels on the truck can lock up.
It affects about 230,000 Ram 1500 models.
The federal safety investigators also looking into the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The danger here is that a power steering hose leaks fluid and that can cause the engine to catch fire.
This affects 107,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs.
The investigations could lead to a recall of both vehicles.
NHTSA says there are no reports of injuries in either case.
