WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC Council Member Phil Graham is holding off on calling for Mayor Vincent Gray to resign amid legal troubles over his 2010 campaign, according to the Washington Post on Tuesday morning. Three members of DC Council have called for the mayor to resign.
Just last week, Jeanne Clarke Harris admitted to helping orchestrate a $650,0000 shadow campaign on Gray's behalf.
An immunity deal could be in the works for Vernon Hawkins. Investigators believe he served as the field operations manager for that alleged shadow campaign.
Sources tell 9News Now's Bruce Johnson that Hawkins played a key role in funding the Vincent Gray's 2010 mayoral bid. Sources tell Johnson prosecutors are also prepared to offer Hawkins immunity for his co-operation.
We've tried to meet with Hawkins, but he hasn't returned our calls.
