FORT BELVOIR, Va. (WUSA) -- There is some relief coming for those of you who get stuck in traffic on Route 1 near Fort Belvoir.
The Pentagon and Department of Transportation announced Monday that it will pay $180 million to widen the road.A lane will be added in each direction between Telegraph Road and Mount Vernon Highway.
There will also be improved access at the Tully and Pence Gates.
There is no timetable yet for the project.
