WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A man has been arrested for killing a 6-month-old puppy while it was sleeping by dropping a 100-pound cement block on its head, says the Washington Humane Society.
Twenty-four-year-old Sean Delontay Branch was arrested on Wednesday in Clinton, Md. for felony animal cruelty. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 31 and faces up to five years in jail and a $25,000 fine.
Authorities say that slaying of the puppy named "King Tut" happened behind the Circle Seven Express store at 1209 Mount Olivet Road NE on June 29.
