200 People Displaced After Apartment Building Condemned In Riverdale, Md. Following Storm Aftermath

RIVERDALE, Md. (WUSA) -- About 200 residents are without a home after their apartment complex in Riverdale was condemned due to "residual effects" from recent storms, says the Prince George's County Office Of Emergency Management. 

The Prince George's County Department of Environment Resources condemned the 65-unit complex in the 5300 block of Riverdale Park. Wednesday night, Prince George's County firefighters responded to the complex for a water leak.

Wednesday night a temporary shelter was set up at Bladensburg High School for the residents. The American Red Cross and the Department of Social Services are helping displaced families.

An official assessment will determine if the facility will remain condemned.
