WASHINGTON (WUSA) - The storms that struck the DC metro area last night have left more fallen trees, flooded streets and dark traffic signals in their wake.

DC Department of Transportation officials confirm they have dispatched a crew to clear a tree that is leaning on embassy property over Waterside Drive near Massachusetts Avenue. The tree appears to have fallen from Rock Creek Park property, and has closed Waterside Drive between Rock Creek Parkway and Massachusetts Avenue.

A Pecpo outage has also darkened signals located at 23rd Street and Virginia Avenue in Northwest, as well as 12th Street and Varnum St. in Northeast, according to DC DOT.

U.S. Park Police tell 9 NEWS NOW high standing water has shut down a significant stretch of Beach Drive between Broad Branch Road and Joyce Road.

So far there are no estimates on when any of these issues may be resolved.

Stay tuned to 9 NEWS NOW and WUSA9.COM for updates on this morning's traffic issues.
