MARBURY, Md. (WUSA) --  A Charles County man was arrested after being accused of firing a shotgun across the street and then charging at his neighbors this past weekend.

Sunday at 7:20 p.m., police officers arrived in the 3900 block of Bullitt Neck Road in Marbury for the report of an assault with a weapon. Officers were told that 46-year-old William Grinder of Marbury walked out to his front yard, pointed a shotgun towards his neighbors across the street, and fired at least one round towards four people. He then reportedly placed the gun on the ground and charged toward the people.

They were able to fight him off until police arrived. 

Grinder was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and assault.
