WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -  Scores of firefighters battled a four alarm fire blaze in the sweltering heat Thursday night  at the Woodbridge Station Apartments.

The apartment complex is at 1400 Eisenhower Circle.  Fire destroyed the entire fourth floor of one of the four story garden-style buildings, and damaged one of the adjacent apartment buildings.

No occupants were injured, but about 100 people are now homeless.

The fire's cause is unknown at this time. Workers for the Red Cross are on the scene helping residents.

Two firefighters had to be rushed to the hospital with heat exhaustion.

A cause and a damage estimate are still being determined

Chief Jim McAllister of the Occoquan, Woodbridge, Lorton Volunteer Fire Department says he believes the building had sprinklers, but that most of the fire was up in the attic above the sprinklers.

Just last January, another fire at the complex destroyed 14 apartments.
