BETHESDA, Md., (WUSA) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling about 300,000 Discovery Kids Animated Marine and Safari Lamps.

The wires inside the lamp are situated near the circuit board.  The placement can cause electrical short-circuiting and sparking.  It also poses a fire and burn hazard.

Innovage, the lamp manufacturer, has received 11 reports of short circuiting, including three reports of lamps catching fire and property damage.

There have been no reports of injury.

The lamps feature rotating films with marine and safari scenes.  The words "Discovery Kids" are printed on the front top left corner.

The product's 11 digit batch number begins with either 584894 or 10128.  The batch numbers are carved underneath the plastic lamps and on the bottom of the packaging.

The model numbers are 1628626, 1642433, 1641522, 1641523, 1645729 oe 1645853. The model numbers are printed on stickers underneath the lamps and on the bottom of the packaging near the barged.

The lamps were sold nationwide from June 2010 through March 2012 at Bed Bath & Beyond, Banton, Acapnia, Kohls, Office Max and Toys R Us as well as online retailers Amazon, Ideal, JCPennety, Macy's and Overstock.

They were priced at $10 and $20.
