BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- With hundreds of thousands of people still sweltering without power, many of the officials you might expect to be blasting away at Pepco are holding fire for now.

The chairman of the Maryland Public Service Commission, which levied a $1-million fine against the electric utility last year, is now urging everyone to wait for an after storm report before grading Pepco's efforts to get people's power back on.

Roger Berliner, president of the Montgomery County Council, and a man who has been hammering Pepco for years, also says it's too early to judge this surprise, hurricane force storm.
