ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -- Three lanes of I-66 west at I-495 on Friday, July 6 will be closed from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday, July 7.
Crews will be removing "an old overhead box girder," say VDOT officials.
After midnight, the fourth lane will close for up to 30 minutes at a time throughout the night. There may be a one-hour temporary traffic stoppage between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.
Exit 49, I-495 south to I-66 west will also be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue on I-495 south to Exit 52B, Little River Turnpike (Route 236) east, follow signage to I-495 north to Exit 49A, I-66 west.
