RESTON, Va. (WUSA) --Many are facing a third night with no electricity.

Concern has focused on the elderly in this heat.

On the 7th floor of Lake Anne Fellowship House off North Shore Drive in Reston, it is dark, stuffy and, for some seniors, unbearable.

Murry Lands lives on the 7th floor.

"I have asthma. I'm okay I've had no breathing problems when I'm sleeping," said Lands.

Some of the residents have decided to go outside in 90 degree temperatures for relief.

Eighty-eight-year-old Henrietta Witt suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago.

"If I stay here I'll be dead," said Witt.

260 residents are in the dark. They are frustrated, impatient and facing another night in the stifling heat.

Hayne Wesson says he naps on the benches outside of the high rise complex.

Some complain that management isn't doing enough to help these low income seniors.

Others fear for their safety, with many suffering health problems and may not come out of their apartment for help.

Good samaritans have heard about their plight and are bringing food and water for the elderly.

The property manager says they offered residents another place to stay that has air conditioning but many don't have a way of getting there.
