VIENNA, Va. (WUSA) -- All Town of Vienna Water customers and households within the Town of Vienna corporate limits are under a Boil Water Advisory.
Customers should use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes as a safety precaution. Officials warn that not doing so could lead to stomach or intestinal illness.
There was a drop in water pressure in the Tysons and Vienna area of the Falls Church City water system on Saturday afternoon and such a drop can potentially allow contaminants to get into water pipes, say officials. According to officials, "The City of Falls Church supplies the Town of Vienna with 100% of its drinking water, which is then delivered to Vienna water customers through the Town of Vienna's water distribution system."
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect through Monday night.
This advisory does not apply to Fairfax Water Customers.
