(WUSA) -- Montgomery County Police say that a male driver who crashed Saturday night on Route 198 exit ramp to northbound Route 29 has died. He did not survive his injuries from the crash and died later in the evening.

Police continue to investigate the single-car crash which happened Saturday. They still do not know why the driver lost control of his vehicle, sending it off the road. They are asking that anyone who has information about the crash call investigators at 301-840-2435.

Police do say the crash is "unrelated to any storm damage or power outage."

The driver's identity has not yet been released.
