WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- When planning your summer vacation budget, there's one thing you may forget: tips. Kiplinger.com reports it always helps to have a bunch of small bills with you.

Hotel housekeepers usually get $2 to $5 a day. A good rule of thumb is $1 per bed made each day.

Airport shuttle drivers should get a dollar or two when they handle your bags.

Give a parking valet $2 to $5 each time you pick up your car. But in some places, tipping is included so you should read the fine print.

Also, remember to brush up on the customs before you go overseas -- rules may be different.
