Police Investigate Series Of Local Burglaries

GERMANTOWN, Md. (WUSA) - Police are investigating a series of burglaries in occupied homes in Germantown neighborhoods.

Police say that since April 6th, there have been 18 residential burglaries in which the homes had been occupied, at these locations:
• Lake Placid Lane

• Sir Spencer Way

• Wayfarer Road
• Wheatridge Drive
• Bowman Ridge Drive
• Town Commons Court
• McFarlin Drive
• Stone Hollow Drive
• Lullaby Road
• Falcon Crest Road
• Tilford Way
• Tarragon Way
• Polynesian Lane
• Stone Hollow Drive
• Lake Geneva Way
• Marble Hill Place
• Chatterly Court

Police also report thefts of vehicles and thefts from vehicles in the same neighborhoods.


One theft in the 18000 block of Wheatfield Drive on May 23 at approximately 4 a.m. when two male suspects took items from the victim's car parked in the home's driveway, then as surveillance video shows, he tried to open the front door. Similar thefts took place in numerous other vehicles in that area. Further investigation revealed numerous other vehicles in the area that had also been broken into.


Police released surveillance photos of the suspect and asked for the public's help in identifying the suspect. They believe the suspect pictured may be involved in some or all of the incidentsin these Germantown neighborhoods.
