DICKERSON, Md. (WUSA) -- A 5,000 gallon milk truck overturned on a roadway on Friday afternoon, officials said.
It happened at about 1:22 p.m., at Darnestown road near Martinsburg Road in Dickerson, Md, fire officials said.
A tanker truck with the capacity to carry 5,000 gallons of milk ended up on its side. The truck also carried about 200 gallons of diesel fuel. Both the milk and the diesel fuel leaked from the vehicle, officials said.
The driver was not hurt and the EPA was called in to help with the cleanup of the mixture of milk and fuel.
Route 28, which is also Darnestown Road has shut down in both directions. It's shutdown at Route 109 to the south and Mt. Ephraim Road to the north.
