WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC police say that another sexual assault case has been connected via DNA to the Potomac River Rapist, who attacked women in the DC area between 1991 and 1998. Police are planning to hold a press conference with more details on Thursday afternoon, along with America's most Wanted host John Walsh, the FBI, Montgomery County police and the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The last case linked to the Potomac River Rapist was the attack and murder of 29-year-old Christine Mirzayan, who was National Academy of Sciences intern. Mirzayan was walking home from a cookout in Georgetown when she was attacked. Authorities say she was raped and repeatedly bludgeoned with a 73-pound rock.

Witnesses told police that they had seen a man following her and helped create a sketch of the man (see the sketch attached to this story).

Eight other women were also attacked. You can find details about those cases on the FBI website.
