WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Grammy award-winning R&B singer Ledisi joined us on Monday morning to talk about her new book "Better Than Alright: Finding Peace, Love & Power."

We asked her what made her decide to write a book, which includes some painful experiences from her childhood. Watch the interview in the video above.

If you want to see Ledisi in person, she will be at Barnes & Nobles at Union Station Monday afternoon from noon until 2 p.m. for a book signing. Monday from 6 p.m. until 8pm she'll be at Busboys & Poets on Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville.
