WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA)-- Thousands converge on to Dupont Circle in NW Washington, D.C. on Saturday for the annual Capital Pride Parade.
The parade which features floats, music, and crowds has become a tradition in Washington and especially along the streets of Dupont Circle.
For many in attendance it was an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments made by the LGBTQ community in the past year.
For the first time ever a U.S. president has supported gay marriage. In Maryland legislation allowing gay's to wed is set to go into effect next year unless a referendum vote in the public strikes it down.
