Health & Fitness Expo Aims To Promote Healthy Lifestyles

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA) -- First Baptist Church of Glenarden is holding its annual Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday from 10 a.m.  3 p.m.  The event will offer over 40 types of free medical screenings, cooking demonstrations, children's activities and vital information for seniors.

First Baptist Church of Glenarden is partnering with Children's National Medical Center and "Be the Match Foundation" with a marrow donor program to help sickle cell patients.

A "Man Cave" area will focus on health and fitness activities designed to address men's health concerns with physicians and personal trainers.

Over 80 national organizations including AARP, National Institutes of Health, Prince George's Hospital Center and the American Diabetes Association are participating in the Health & Fitness Expo.

Dr. Ro, Award-winning health journalist and author of "Dr. Ro's 10 Secrets to Livin' Healthy" will hold discussions that will tackle unhealthy lifestyles and offer advice on how everyone can move towards a path to healthy living.
