HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA) - A male toddler was found on Thursday afternoon, alone, without shoes and holding a dish with food in it, according to Prince George's County Police.
The boy, estimated to be under 2 years old, was found in an area near FedEx Field.
A Hyattsville resident phoned police to report that the boy was walking by himself in the 600 block of Garrett A. Morgan Blvd. at around 5:30 p.m., according to a police spokesperson.
The caller described the shoeless boy as wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans, carrying a plate of food. Although the child showed no signs of injury or trauma, he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The county's child protective services dept. was notified. A police dog was used to discover where the boy had come from, and to help locate his parents or guardian.
Just after 9 p.m., police reported that the boy's parents had been located but no other information was immediately available.
