DULLES, Va. (WUSA) -- A life-size hologram is making passengers do a double take at Dulles International Airport.

It's the first of its kind in the country.

Going through customs has never been so entertaining.
Paige is part public relations executive, educator and airport assistant.

John Mazur was passing through customs.
"I think it's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.  I travel all over the world and I've never seen that before.

You'll find people taking her picture, giving curious stares and pointing fingers.

Dennis Hazell worked to bring the hologram to Dulles. "I thought she was going to be entertaining but customers are the funniest thing."

Stuart Buckle just flew from England. "she's so life-like; so real."

Paige is a life size hologram. She gives you a brief history lesson about the airport, shows you what you need coming off of an international flight and how to get you quickly out the door.

But passengers may have an issue with Paige because she does not respond to questions.

But information may not be what these people are looking for when they see Paige.

Buckle, "I was looking at her eyes. I didn't listen to what she said, which is often the case."

Paige is on a 3-month trial. If all goes well, the airport wants to put more holograms in other parts of the airport.

Virtual assistants are already being used at airports in several countries overseas, including Frankfurt and London.
Hazell says they are working on having the holograms more interactive and answer pertinent questions about the airport.
