FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- The sketch of a woman, who was killed back in 1982, was released by the Frederick Police Department on Friday. Now, police are asking for your help to identify the woman.
"On August 24, 1982, the FPD received a call about a steamer trunk just off the roadway at the Frederick City Watershed. Officers responded and discovered the body of a white female, 18-25, with dark hair, inside the trunk," police said.
Police say they have pursued hundreds of leads to try to figure out the crime.
Sgt. Don Stahl of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, helped construct this sketch.
"Stahl is highly skilled in forensic reconstruction of skeletal remains and was able to examine the remains and provide digital pictures of what the victim may have looked like at the time of her discovery," police said.
