BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- Police are investigating an early-morning stabbing outside a Metro station that may have been the result of a fight between two men.
Montgomery County Police say 24-year-old Jose Antonio Hernandez was stabbed in the chest outside the Friendship Heights Metro station around 2:50 Thursday morning after an altercation with another man. He was transported to a hospital to be treated for the stab wound and a collapsed lung.
A witness was able to describe the subject who assaulted Hernandez. According to a witness, the suspect may have stabbed the victim out of self defense. He is described as man in his 60's who goes by "shorty." DC police say they found 53-year-old Philip Enyeazyi near Wisconsin Avenue and Van Ness Street NW. He was taken into custody and questioned by investigators.
Enyeazyi is being held by D.C. authorities until he is served with a warrant.
