WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC is the sixth worst city in the country for congestion, according to a new study. That same report by Inrix finds the worst spot in the region is southbound 95 in Virginia between the Beltway and Exit 148 in Stafford. The average driver wastes 19 minutes each evening on this 24-mile stretch.
The other four worst spots in our region:
2. The Outer Loop in Maryland from Route 1 to Georgia Avenue
3. Eastbound I-66 between 234 and the Beltway
4. The Inner Loop from I-395 in Virginia all the way around to New Hampshire Avenue
5. The northbound BW Parkway from Route 450 to Powder Mill Road
Even our worst road doesn't crack the nationwide top 20. Southbound 95 is 21st on the nationwide list.
The worst road in the nation is the 405 in Los Angeles. It's followed by the Long Island Expressway in New York.
