GREENBELT, Md. (WUSA) - Prince George's County Fire Department Spokesperson Mark Brady says three tour buses, including one with middle school students from Dallastown, Pa. headed to D.C. for sightseeing, were involved in collisions on the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway in Greenbelt on Wednesday morning.

Brady says that the Beltway traffic slowed down before the BW Parkway and a box truck hit the back of a bus, causing damage to the engine and disabling the bus.

Brady also says two separate crashes involving the two other buses happened on the Beltway near Kenilworth Avenue.

Eight passengers/students from the first collision complained about neck and back pain, according to Brady, and four students and one adult from the second collision complained of illness or injury. He says no injuries were reported on the third bus.

In total, more than 80 passengers were evaluated at the scene but only 13 were taken to hospitals for minor injuries or illnesses.

Maryland State Police are investigating the crash.
