Roland Thomas Smith was arrested on aggravated malicious wounding charges in Spotsylvania County.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- A man stabbed a woman after she caught him cheating on her at a hotel in Spotsylvania County, police said.
It happened on Friday night at around 9:20 p.m. at the Econo-Lodge Hotel on 5321 Jefferson-Davis Highway, police said.

"The first deputies on scene found the victim a 36 year old white female of Spotsylvania sitting holding her abdomen stating, Roland Smith had just stabbed her after she caught him cheating on her. Witnesses on the scene pointed out Smith who was attempting to flee the scene on foot," police said.
Police chased Smith down Smith and took him into custody.
"Deputies confronted Smith and took him into custody without incident. Smith had blood on his hands and a knife was recovered from his person," police said.
The victim was transported to the hospital where she is being treated for her wounds.
Smith was charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
