WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) --The teen whose older brothers play in the NFL appeared in court Saturday. 19-year-old Michael Davis has been charged with two counts of attacking people with a hammer.
His famous brothers did not come to court, famed Pro Football Tight End Vernon Davis of the 49ers and Vontae Davis of the Miami Dolphins.
Other family members did show up in support of the younger Davis.
He's been charged with now two assaults with intent to kill while armed.
And now a 5th victim has come forward.
Michael Davis appeared before the judge wearing a white jumpsuit.
His family crying as the judge said he would be held without bond.
A man who says he's the father of the Davis brothers said, "
My son is innocent I know my son didn't do it."
The teen is charged with attacking random people in the Petworth neighborhood earlier this week. He is suspected but has not been charged in one attack that killed a Denver tourist.
The defense attorney argued there was no probable cause because the victims could not credibly identify their attacker. She argued one of the victims who's skull was fractured was attacked from behind.
The judge overruled and said Davis will remain behind bars until his next hearing.
Detectives say there is no motive. The Mayor said Davis suffers from a mental illness.
Metropolitan police say the 5th victim came forward shortly after they arrested Davis.
They are investigating a series of other attacks that may be linked to Davis.
The U.S. Attorney's office would not comment on additional charges to include murder.
Davis' preliminary hearing is set for May 11th.
