WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The Washington Animal Rescue League has a new pet of the week. His name is Mister.

WARL writes:

"This 5-year-old brown tabby is a truly special boy. First and foremost, he is a large, handsome love bug who wants nothing more than to socialize. He adores having his incredibly soft fur stroked and will curl up in your lap for a quick cat nap when the opportunity arises. You simply couldn't find a nicer cat. Mister is also a "special" needs cat because he is FIV positive. This does NOT mean he's unadoptable! What it does mean is that his immune system is not as effective as that of most other cats so his overall health should be monitored more closely. With appropriate veterinary care, he could easily live to 15 years or more. Although Mister cannot transmit his illness to dogs or people, he could "share" it with another cat, so he needs a home where he can live by himself...or with another FIV-positive feline. Either way, he's sure to bring joy to the lucky person who adopts him."
