WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- 9Sports has learned that Heisman trophy winner Robert Griffin, III is in the DC area meeting with Redskins staff.
The quarterback was spotted at the Palm in Tysons with Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, Redskins General Manager Bruce Allen, and head coach Mike Shanahan.
Last week, Kyle Shanahan met with Griffin in Waco. Shanahan reportedly went over the Redskins playbook with Griffin.
Head coach Mike Shanahan was in Waco last month for Baylor's pro day. Shanahan was part of a contingent that included Daniel Snyder who went to Baylor's campus to watch Griffin work out.
On March 31, Griffin was in Chantilly for a card show, but this is the quarterback's first visit to the DC area to meet with the Redskins.
Last month, the Redskins traded up to get the 2nd pick overall in the NFL draft. The team will likely use that pick to draft Griffin or Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.
