Pedestrian Injured After Jumping Out Of Train's Path

MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) - A person walking on railroad tracks was injured after jumping off the tracks to get out of the path of a VRE train Wednesday night, according to the Manassas City Fire Dept.

The person, walking along the tracks, jumped off the track just north of Manassas Park when the train, No. 337, got closer and suffered a back injury. The person was taken to the hospital by Medivac.

The train did not strike the person or anything else, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.never hit anything.

The train was stopped while the injured person was removed from the area. VRE reports that the train, and hour and a half late, would be back in service by 9:30 p.m.
