WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The website MoneyRates.com has ranked Virginia as the "Best State to Make a Living." It vaulted up from 4th place last year.
Contributing factors to its ranking include average income rising to over $43,000, the cost of living dropping, a lower unemployment rate and a stable income tax.
Maryland came in at Number 23.
