DUTIES:
WUSA9 News in Washington, DC is looking for an Investigative Photographer Producer/Multi-Media Journalist to work in our investigative unit. This person will research, write, shoot and edit investigative stories for on-air and all digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in news photography, editing and story production. Knowledge of the Washington, DC market, computer-assisted reporting and research under the Freedom of Information Act a plus. Must be an excellent writer and web content producer with solid news judgment. The producer must have an understanding how to take complex topics and put them together so they are understandable, balanced, and compelling. The producer will also be responsible for posting stories, photos and images to the web as well as preparing video for streaming. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have at least three years experience as a photographer/editor or multi-media journalist in a medium to large television market, or as part of a syndicated or network show, including proven ability to write, and produce news packages. Must be able edit in a non-linear system like Avid, Edius, or Final Cut Pro. Ability to do high-end effects editing a plus. Must have valid drivers license and car. Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
