George Huguely was convicted of murdering sometime girlfriend Yeardley Love
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WUSA)-- One of the jurors who decided George Huguely's fate tells 9News Now that "justice was served." But Ian Glomski declines to say if second degree murder and a recommended 26 year sentence was a compromise.
Glomski refused to speak to reporters at the courthouse Wednesday night after the guilty verdict and the sentencing recommendation. But outside his home the next morning, he said the jury tried "really hard," that in general the jurors were "very high calibre, very thoughtful, and did the job to the best of the their ability."
Glomski said "that's probably all I should say," when asked specifically if some of the jurors might have initially argued for a tougher conviction for first degree murder or a lesser conviction for manslaughter.
Glomski says he does not even own a tv, but he's negotiating with at least one network for an exclusive interview. He wants a big donation in exchange to One Love Foundation, the non-profit set up by her family in Yeardley Love's name.
Huguely broke down his sometime girlfriend's bedroom door in May, 2010 and beat her to death in a drunken rage.
