CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County Police have identified a woman who died in Silver Hill, Md., after the car she was riding in overturned about 1:30 a.m., Saturday.
Police said 19-year-old Tyesha Williams of Capitol Heights, Md., was killed after the driver apparently lost control and the vehicle subsequently overturned at Suitland Road and Hil-Mar Drive.
Tammy Holland says her daughter, Tyesha, was an incredible young woman with a beautiful one year-old son, a loving family, and a future as bright as her smile.
"She wanted to go to cosmetology school," Holland says.
Tragically, Tyesha's future is no more.
It was right around 1:30 Saturday morning when the SUV that Tyesha was riding in with three friends slammed into a tree on Suitland Road in Prince George's County. Tyesha was pronounced dead at a local hospital, while the two other passengers suffered only minor injuries. The driver, meanwhile, took off immediately after the accident and police are still looking for him.
Police have not yet released the driver's name. Tyesha's parents say they know him only as DJ. Tyesha's parents also say that, whatever the circumstances that led to the accident, they're hoping the driver will soon do the right thing by Tyesha and turn himself in.
"Life is tough without her, but I know we have to move forward, but I still would like see justice served," says Timothy Williams, Tyesha's father.
