Victor Guillermo Martinez of Baltimore Dies From Injuries In 3-Car Crash

SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- Montgomery County Police say a driver involved in a multi-vehicle crash in the area of Briggs Chaney on Dec. 16, 2011 succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Seventy-four-year-old Victor Guillermo Martinez of Baltimore was transported by ambulance to the Cowley Shock Trauma Center after the crash. He never regained consciousness and succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Police say he WAS wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, which happened shortly before 6:54 p.m. on Dec. 16. Police say that a dark blue Mercedes SUV was traveling northbound in lane one of northbound Route 29, south of Greencastle Road when it struck the rear of a black Toyota Corolla (driven by Martinez), which then struck the rear of a gray Mercury Mariner. 

Thirty-eight-year-old Ian Ababat Sejismundo of Silver Spring was driving the Mercedes. Sejismundo's 5-year-old daughter was belted in a car seat. Both were not injured, and Sejismundo remained on the scene to provide information.

John Kevin Kesler, 60, of Silver Spring was driving the Mercedes. He was not injured and remained on the scene.
