WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Metro is scaling back on hiring plans.
The Washington Examiner reports that in the next budget cycle Metro will look to add about 880 positions instead of 1,000.
It's particularly an issue of cost but also Metro plans to hire contractors instead of employees to deal with issues such as escalator and elevator repairs.
