WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Two more people have been arrested and charged with murder in the death of 21-year-old Jamal Coates, who was shot in 2010.
The shooting happened on Sept. 28, 2010 in the 1900 block of 13th Street, NW shortly after noon. A police investigation showed that someone fired at a vehicle and that vehicle fled to the 1100 block of U Street, NW. It collided with two other cars and overturned. The two people in the overturned vehicle were hit by gunfire.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical personnel transported one victim to a hospital. The other victim, Jamal Coates, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
On the night of Sept. 28, 2010, Brandon Miller was arrested and charged with murder one while armed.

More than a year later, on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, detectives arrested 23-year-old Marcellus E. Jackson and 21-year-old Kier M. Johnson of Northwest D.C. and charged them with murder one while armed.
