ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -- The roads will be more crowded Tuesday morning, especially at Interstate 395 at Seminary Road. All 6,400 Mark Center employees will be in the complex and that could equal a hurry and wait scenario.

The final round of federal employees move into the Mark Center Tuesday, commuting to the Alexandria building on top of the estimated 200,000 who travel on I-395 every workday.

Virginia lawmakers have long lobbied against this plan because of the traffic problems it would cause. Congress struck a deal with the Army to provide 2,000 parking spaces.

The 6400 workers were moved to the Mark Center as part of the Base Realignment Commission's plan and they have been gradually moving in to the building since last summer.

There is no Metro access to this building so employees who won't be driving will be taking shuttle buses from the Metro.
