WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- With so many children having access to tech devices like iPads, tablets and smart phones, online safety is a priority for many parents.
A PBS KIDS survey of parents of 2 to 10 year olds found nearly a quarter of parents will hand over their old tech devices.
PBS says there are three things you want to do to make sure the devices your children are using are:
1. secure it
2. set limits
3. find the right apps
There is also a video game for kids to learn what's safe at pbskids.org/webonauts/
Lesli Rotenberg, Senior Vice President of Children's Media at PBS sat down with 9NEWS NOW's Mike Hydeck to talk about what steps to take to keep your child safe online.
