WASHINGTON DC (WUSA ) -- These jobs pay very well. There are a lot of them. The only hitch; you have to move to North Dakota.

The state has added 20,000 jobs in the past year and its unemployment rate is the lowest in the nation, at 3.5 percent. The reason, North Dakota is sitting on 400 billion barrels of oil, that have been hard to get at, until about 5 years ago when oil companies figured out how to get at it. And thus, the hiring boom began.

Companies are so desperate to hire, a Halliburton executive went on a cable show recently promising starting salaries of $120,000 if you have a high school education. McDonalds locations are offering $15 an hour and $300 signing bonuses. Companies have been travelling all over the country to convince workers to move there. All industries are benefiting, from home construction, to retail, to schools, to police, and that means more jobs there too.
