LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WUSA)-- A possible tornado touched down in Louisa County destroying the historic house that sits on the 300 acres of Sylvania farms on the 6700 block of James Madison Highway.
The house, which was built in 1746, had its roof and columns torn off and scattered throughout the property. Frank Layman, the caretaker, said the fix isn't going to be "easy or cheap."

Louisa County has seen more than its fair share of natural disasters. The epicenter of the earthquake that shook the eastern coast back in August was in Mineral just 18 miles away from Thursday's tornado. Since that quake the area has had constant after shocks, a hurricane, floods, and now a tornado.
Louisa County Sheriff's Cpl. Chuck Love said, "It's not been good. They just received word that FEMA denied any assistance to the residents, then this happens."

The fix for the damage left at the Sylvania house is estimated to be nearly half a million dollars. The county's current tab for all the fixes throughout the region since the earthquake sits at more than $80 million.
Thankfully no one was hurt as a result of Thursday's tornado.
