BROOKLYN PARK, MD. (WUSA) -- Anne Arundel County detectives are investigating a murder, suicide.
Police spokesperson Lt. J.D. Batten said police were called to a home in the 600 block of Wood Street by a mother shortly before 9 a.m.
Batten said the mother indicated her son sent her a text message, and the message's tone made her concerned for his well being and the safety of his family.
The mother had called the police to check on her son.
While officers were talking to the woman outside the home they heard a single gunshot from inside the residence, Batten said.
Police immediately formed entered the home and found an adult male along with an adult female and two juveniles dead from gunshot wounds.
It appears the incident was a murder, suicide where the male shot the other members of his family before shooting himself.
Preliminary information indicates all four persons resided in the home together. As of now, the names, ages and exact relationship between the deceased male shooter and the three victims remains under investigation and is not being released.
