LOUDOUN CO., Va. (WUSA) -- A Loudoun County toddler is okay after being left in a hot car Thursday for close to an hour.
Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell says a father had three children with him, but only two of them were involved with the event they were attending in Aldie. He forgot about the 1-year-old in the car for about 45 minutes, until the mother arrived and asked where the toddler was.
The couple took the child to local clinic which did some tests then sent the 1-year-old to Prince William Hospital. Police were called to the hospital, and tests were conducted while deputies were present. The child was declared healthy.
The hospital contacted Prince William County Police, but they handed the case to the Sheriff's Office when found out the event took place in Loudoun County.
Troxell says the parents are being cooperative. No one has been charged with a crime yet.
