STERLING, Va. (WUSA) -- Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Sterling Tuesday morning.
Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department, says a call reporting a double shooting came into 911 around 6:00 a.m. from a resident in the 800 block of Birch Street near West Poplar Drive. Police found a husband and wife dead at the scene. Authorities identify the couple as Larry Perry, 64, and Mercedes Perry, 61.
Troxell says it appears the man shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.
According to Troxell, an elderly woman who appears to be the mother of one of the deceased, was also living at the home at the time of the shooting.
At this point it is unclear who made the 911 call from the home.
The couple's identities have not been released.
