WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Sulaiman Brown was escorted from his office at the Department of Health Care Finance by DC  Protective Services Thursday morning, right after he was told he was being let go.

Brown alleges Councilman David Catania is responsible for pushing him out the door.  We contacted Catania's office for comment but have not heard back as of this post.

Brown, who ran a failed campaign for mayor, is a staunch Gray supporter.  In fact, he was recommended  to the department by Mayor  Gray.  On Wednesday, Gray was criticized for cronyism but said Brown was qualified for the job.

One day later, Brown was told he wasn't "the right fit" for the job and was placed on paid leave, to be followed by termination.  Police were called to his office after he says his co-workers called to say he was being disorderly.  He denies any misconduct.  In fact, the director of the Department of Health Care Finance now calls the situation a "miscommunication."

Brown barged into a late news conference held by the Mayor and his former boss, he said, to set the record straight.

"It is hard to swallow for some politically bull**** for this guy to look at me and tell me I'm not a good fit," he told reporters.
